An intestinal intussusception

A 2 year old boy who has a recurence of an intestinal intussusception. (A) Target appearance. Transverse view through the left mid-abdomen demonstrates a rounded soft tissue mass. Note the hypoechoic outer rim (O) representing the receiver loop, or intussuscipiens. The central region is the intussusceptum with several loops of bowel (B) and echogenic mesenteric (M) fat seen. (B) Pseudokidney appearance. Longitudinal view through the right lower quadrant demonstrates an intussusception with a tubular or reniform shape (arrows).
